Annemarie Selvitelli
Annemarie Selvitelli was named Operations Director for ASFE in December 2005. In her position, Selvitelli is responsible for planning three annual conferences and the association’s monthly education seminars. She has been an AMPs member for 5 years and active on the Community Service committee. She holds a B.S. degree in Health Wellness from Buffalo State College.


Cameron Curtis
Cameron Curtis is the Manager of Meetings for the Association of American Medical Colleges. She started her meeting planning career with the Phi Beta Kappa Society in March of 2000. She has been an active member of AMPs since 2003 and has served as committee co-chair on the golf committee and is currently on the board. She holds a B.A. in Music Theater from Christopher Newport University.

 

Russell McKinnon, MAM, CAE
Russell F. McKinnon is the President of the International Theos Foundation (ITF). Russell and his wife Deborah established ITF in 1998 as a charity committed to serving the “poorest of the poor”. In March of 2007, Russell retired from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) of Arlington, Virginia, after serving close to 14 years as the Director of Meeting and Events. He obtained his CAE status in 1979 and received a Masters of Management Degree from the George Washington University in 1988. He started in association management as the Assistant Executive Director of the Federal Bar Association in 1973 and departed in 1977 to serve as CEO of the Automotive Dismantlers and Recyclers Association. From 1990 to 1993, Russell was the General Manager of Trade Associates (TAI) in Rockville, MD. TAI marketed and managed 25 trade shows. He has also served in a number of other corporate, foundation and association executive and board positions.

Russell also is the President of The MacKinnon Company, LLC (TMC). TMC provides Strategic Planning and Market Planning services to associations, foundations and for-profit organizations.

He has been a member of AMPs since 1988 and served on the Golf Committee in 2003-2004. As Treasurer, he is board liaison to the newly formed Investment Committee.

 

Joan Greene
Joan Greene has been a National Account Manager with Experient since 2006. Prior to that, she was with HelmsBriscoe for 9 years. She has also held Meeting Planning positions with National Industries for the Blind, National Governors’ Association and MCI Communications. Joan has been a member of AMPs since 1997 and has been an active member, as well as a past co-Chair, of the Community Services Committee. In 2006, she was the recipient of the AMPe Award for Meeting Professional of the Year.

 


Henry J. (Hank) Roeder
Hank Roeder is Senior Vice President, Global Operations for the National Business Travel Association. He has been an AMPs member for seven years, with service on the AMPs program committee and as a member of AMPs Board of Directors for the past four years.

Hank is a 40 year veteran of the association industry. Over the past 17 years he has directed Meetings and Convention activities as well as Membership and Internal Communications at NBTA. Most prominent in this area is NBTA’s Annual International Convention and Exposition which brings together over 6,400 buyers and providers of business travel products and services each year. The August, 2009 annual international convention and exposition will take place in San Diego, CA with attendees coming from over 46 countries around the world.

In his current role, he is responsible for NBTA’s involvement in the global arena, having played a critical role in the association’s creation of the Paragon Partnership, a group of eleven aligned international business travel buyer associations. He is responsible for direct interface with NBTA’s international association components; NBTA Canada, NBTA Asia Pacific, NBTA Mexico and with NBTA’s Director of European Operations. He helps oversee a series of NBTA partnerships which produces meetings in Brazil, Southeast Asia and China. Hank is the association’s liaison to its Groups and Meetings Committee which has produced the heralded Strategic Meetings Management Program, including a growing number of component contributions covering many aspects of meetings management

Hank is an active member of ASAE, PCMA, and on the Board of Directors of the Association of Meetings Professionals based in Northern Virginia. Hank is a graduate of the University of Scranton and holds a Masters Degree in Broadcast/Film from the American University in Washington DC. He lives with his wife Terry in Vienna, VA. They have three children and are the proud grandparents of four boys and four girls.

 

Kim Allison, CAE, CASE
Kim Allison, CAE,CASE is currently the National Sales Manager for the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Assoication. She has been in the DC area for three years representing her hometown! Prior to moving to DC, she was membership and events manager for the ICVA. Prior to joining the ICVA, Kim was a meeting planner for over 10 years. She has a degree from Purdue University. Kim has been active on the AMPS program and 25th Anniversary committees for three years. She is also active in PCMA and ASAE.

 

Lisa L. Dyson, CMP
Lisa L. Dyson was named Director of Conference Services at Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc. (TESOL) in November 2006. Prior to that, she was Director of Meetings and Conventions for the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI). An active member of AMPs since 2002, she has served on the hospitality committee, membership committee, community service committee and was chair of the PR committee for 2 years. Lisa holds a BS in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University.


Susan Haning - CEM, CMP
Susan Haning CEM, CMP is the Director of Business Development for the National Assn. of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies or affectionately referred to as NAILBA. Most recently, Haning was the National Sales Manager for AV Solutions Freeman / AVW-TELAV Audio Visual, Inc. In that capacity, Haning was responsible for soliciting national business for the company and serving as a local support for customers located in the DC Metro area. Prior to that, Haning served as an account executive for GES Exposition Services & Andrews-Bartlett Exposition Services.

She has a strong convention industry background with involvement in the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) as a current member on the Senior Leadership Task Force committee, the Expo Expo Annual meeting committee and the 2009 Education committee, the former chairman of the 2008 National Education Committee, a current member of the CEM Learning Program faculty, and a former secretary and membership chairman of the local DC Chapter. She is also a former board member of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).

Haning also formerly served on the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) Capital Chapter education program committee; as well as the National PCMA committee - Community Services/Network for the Needy; and as a member of both the Springtime in the Park and Associate Member Advisory Councils for the former Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE)/ASAE. Additionally, Susan has served as a Board member and Committee Chair for a number of other industry organizations.

Susan is characterized by her current boss, NAILBA Executive Director Jack Chiasson, as a results-driven sales strategist with over 20 years of record sales achievements. When not volunteering on some Industry organization you can either find her singing at local Industry events or in her local community choir, playing golf, reading, or volunteering yet again for another worthwhile cause for the King Street Cat Shelter or with Team in Training where she has competed in 2 ½ Marathons and several 10 and 5K races to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Gary Onorio
Gary Onorio has been the Director of National Accounts for Gaylord Hotels since 2006. His focus is on bringing Northern Virginia Association business to the Gaylord family of Resorts. Gary has more than ten years in the hospitality business, seven of which have been spent working for convention focused hotels including the Hilton Anaheim and the Marriott Wardman Park. Gary understands the needs and wants of his clients and what makes a great match when working with his hotels and future business endeavors.

Laura Weaver, CMP
Laura Weaver, CMP is the Director of Meetings and Conventions for the Society of American Florists located in Alexandria, VA. She is responsible for program development, and overall planning, logistics and implementation of SAF's meetings, conferences and annual convention. She has been in the meetings industry for 15 years, and joined SAF in 2004. A certified meeting professional since 2001, Laura has worked for Consumer Bankers Association and Precision Metalforming Association. She has a BA in history from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. and is also a graduate of the Institute for Organizational Management. Laura is active in many Industry related organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Meeting Professionals (AMP’s), and is the Immediate Past Chair of the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) Industry Research Committee.
